  • Provide hands-on opportunities such as internships
  • Provide one-on-one mentorship to students
  • Host a scholarship fundraiser at your company for PATHS Scholarships
  • Host a career day at your company site
  • Join a “Wednesday Scholar Lunch” and host a career panel with your colleagues

The PATHS Scholars Program is excited to launch its formal industry mentorship and internship program. These are two new and exciting ways for companies to give back and help increase the overall success of underrepresented college students pursuing careers/degrees in STEM.

PATHS Industry Mentorship Program

The goal of the PATHS Industry Mentorship Program is to enrich the scholar’s knowledge on different career pathways, as well as provide guidance and support in setting goals, developing contacts, and identifying resources. As part of the mentorship program, a select number of company employees will be paired with one or two scholars for the duration of the academic year (October - June).

In order to properly pair scholars with mentors, we need all mentors to complete the interest form below. Along with filling out the form, you will be required to attend an orientation to the mentorship program on Wednesday, October 13 at 6pm. Failure to attend or make alternate arrangements will result in an inability to participate in the program. Furthermore, the PATHS Scholars Program expects that you will:

  • Meet with your assigned scholar once a month (more or less, depending on mutual availability and agreement), virtually or in person at university site/company site to discuss career pathways, explore networking opportunities and hands-on training/experience
  • Attend PATHS-hosted mentor-mentee events (as the pandemic permits)
  • Maintain regular and appropriate contact with mentees and PATHS staff

Some of the key characteristics we look for in mentors are:

  • Ability to relate to diverse groups
  • Understanding and commitment to the concerns and needs of underrepresented students
  • A warm, supportive, and non-judgmental attitude
  • Frequent communication and reliability
  • Ability to serve as a good role model

Some of the benefits that come with being a mentor are:

  • Get to know and work with the PATHS Scholars Program
  • Work with a mentee to pass along your knowledge
  • Rewarding personal and professional growth experience

Our industry mentorship applications are now closed. New cycle timeline will be announced.
